My Second quilt.

I constructed this quilt with 2" squares and triangles over iron-on interfacing, the technique commonly used in colorwash or watercolor quilts. It seems to me now like a fairly elaborate waste of time using that technique for this kind of a wall hanging, but I learned a lot. The only machine appliqued elements are the nose and the ribbon on the gift. I used a lot of fancy sewing machine stitches when I quilted it.

This won second place in its class at a small local fair against very light competition. Why only second? Because my wife, Edi, won first. Here's the quilt that won. There was a limit of one entry per class per person. The judges suspected that Edi had made this quilt and entered it under my name.
